SUMMARY:AIASB Design Awards Holiday Gala @ the University Club of Santa Barbara
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the American Institute of Architects Santa Barbara\, Robert Ooley\, FAIA\, 2019 President\, requests the pleasure of your company as we honor our members\, our constituents and celebrate our community’s architectural heritage through the presentation of Design Awards. \nWe have submissions from licensed architects in the Santa Barbara area\, also from architects outside Santa Barbara\, if the project was in SB County. Honor\, Merit\, and Honorable Mentions may be recognized in the following categories: Commercial\, Single Family Residential\, Mixed-use and Multi-Family Residential\, Historic Preservation\, Restoration\, Rehabilitation or Reconstruction\, Santa Barbara Architectural Heritage\, Small Projects: Single Family Residential Additions\, Remodels or Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU’s\,) Commercial Interiors\, Residential Interiors and Proposed / Unbuilt Projects. \nAlso awarded at the Gala will be the Lutah Maria Riggs Community Award. \nWe will be offering a student design award. \nOur jurors this year are Christopher Hawthorne\, Chief Design Officer of the City of Los Angeles\, John Margolis\, AIA of Appleton Partners\, and Margot McDonald professor at CalPoly and Architecture Department Head. \nWe have invited the jurors to attend the Gala\, and comment on the 24 winning projects. \nThe purpose of the Design Awards is to recognize and honor excellence in architecture within our local built environment and by AIA Santa Barbara architects beyond our region. \nThe AIA Santa Barbara Design Awards draws attention to the extraordinary legacy of great architecture in Santa Barbara and California\, and the value of well-designed architecture to every member of our community. \nThis year marks the 90th anniversary of AIA Santa Barbara: ticket prices are in celebration of this anniversary. \n$99 for members\n$126 for non-members \n$50 Students \nThis year the membership voted for directors and officers online\, we will be announcing the results of voting at the Gala\, and in the newsletter of January 2020. \nStarting at 5.30 pm with a no-host bar\, followed by a design awards program with dinner\, and dessert provided. \nBy attending the program\, you have given permission for us to use photos taken. \nSponsor Information: Click Here
