About the Awards
This is a unique opportunity for your company to have a presence in the architectural community of Santa Barbara. We have submissions from licensed architects in the Santa Barbara area, as well as from architects outside Santa Barbara if their project was located in Santa Barbara County. Honor, Merit, and Honorable Mentions may be recognized in the following categories: Commercial Buildings; Single Family Residential, Mixed Use and Multi-Family Residential; Conservation Projects: Historic Preservation, Restoration, Rehabilitation or Reconstruction; Santa Barbara Style; Small Projects: Single Family Residential Additions, Remodels or Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU’s); Commercial Interiors; Residential Interiors; and Proposed/Unbuilt Project.
Also awarded at the Gala will be the annual Lutah Maria Riggs community award.
The 2020 incoming Officers and Board of Directors will be announced at the Gala.
Starting at 4.30 pm with a no-host cash only bar, followed by a Design Awards program with dinner, and dessert provided.
Everyone attending will be required to provide proof of Vaccination or negative Covid test taken within 5 days of the event, at the door.
Schedule/ Dress code
Arrive at 4.30 pm for mingling at the end of the sunset over the ocean and dinner will start around 6.00 pm.
Dress warmly and comfortably – business casual.

AIA Santa Barbara’s Awards reflect the values and aspirations of our region’s design community while focusing on larger, even global issues. We recognize that our members work on a variety of challenges and scales. Submissions should reflect a strong sense of place, history, or purpose. We value artfully resolved design, but also celebrate the fact that architecture is much more than just beautiful buildings.
