Presenter: Deborah L. Schwartz, Planning Consultant and Santa Barbara City Planning Commissioner
Deborah L. Schwartz, Santa Barbara City Planning Commissioner, will present an overview of the 2019 housing-related laws enacted by California Governor Newsom. The overview will focus on Accessory Dwelling Unit and Multi-Unit Housing laws.
- Cities and Counties not making a demonstrable commitment to and progress in Housing Element (Regional Housing Needs Allocation) compliance will face land use planning legal and financial threats from the state Attorney General’s office.
- California Legislature demonstrates a continued track record of resolve to streamline local agency housing policies and permitting processes.
