ArchitecTours
ArchitecTours is an annual celebration of architecture as presented by AIA Santa Barbara. For one day in October, members of the public tour select local projects, meet the architects and building professionals, and celebrate at a post‐tour reception. There is also an ArchitecTours App which is used the day of the event to help ticketed guest navigate to the various sites on the tour. This event gets a lot of local publicity and exposure to the public.
Design Awards Gala
AIA Santa Barbara Design Awards recognizes and honors excellence in architecture within our local built environment. The Design Awards draws attention to the extraordinary legacy of great architecture in Santa Barbara, the value of quality design to our community and all those who contribute to its creation. The AIA Santa Barbara Design Awards Gala is held annually in December. At this event we announce the recipients of the design awards.
Additional Benefit: Capital sponsors may have the opportunity to present the awards to recipients.

Criteria to be used by the jury include quality of design, resolution of the program idea, sustainable responsibility, innovation, thoughtfulness, and technique.
All submissions are exhibited at Channing Peake Gallery in Santa Barbara and Betteravia Gallery in Santa Maria, for a few months after the awards are announced.
